Card and Flowers and Diaper bags, oh my!

It's the Time-to-brag-about-my-husband post!

So it's not even Mother's Day yet, and Roberto la rana decided to randomly bring home a bouquet of beautiful sweet smelling roses from the store the other day. It made my week! Then, the next day I received a card from when he was in DC which could not have been worded more perfectly. Yes, it's a sappy one, but sometimes we can all use a little sap to sweeten up our lives. (Hey that could be the new Hallmark slogan!) I think the beginning part is good for everyone to remember, especially with life so busy. Without further ado, I give you - the card (with his own personal remarks omitted):

Cover: A Note Just to Remind You... I Love and Appreciate You!

Inside:

Too many times it seems we take for granted the ones we love. We wait for birthdays or holidays or some other special occasion to say "I love you," "I appreciate you," or "Thank you." We let life carry us away on a never-ending road filled with the responsibilities of a day-to-day existence.

In our busy lives, we often forget that there is more along the way than just bills to pay, phone calls to return, and errands to run. There are people in our lives who need to be hugged, who need to be loved. There are people in our lives who need their accomplishments noticed and praised.

We need to remember how fragile hearts can be, how quickly a soul can grow weary, how fast a spirit can break.

Forgive me for forgetting that a heart is like a garden that needs to be tended to and nourished with what only another heart can give - love and appreciation, devotion and honesty.

Thank you for loving me and for putting up with me. I appreciate you not only for what you have done, but for what you have become and what we are together. I'm proud of you, and I'm proud to be with you.

Even when the road of life becomes a little too curvy or a little too long, I love you, and I want you to always remember that.

Sniff, sniff! I hope I haven't made Maggie cry here, I know she REALLY REALLY loves this kind of thing.

Also, in addition to these sweet gestures by my husband, he took me "baby shopping" over the weekend (No, we didn't get to pick out the actual baby, just some of the accoutrements now deemed necessary in raising said baby) and he hardly complained, controlled his temper with the kids' antsiness, and even urged me to go ahead and buy the really cool diaper bag I wanted to get.

As if all this niceness isn't enough, and even with all the travel he's done in the past month, he still had his best production month EVER at work and was recognized by the manager for his performance last month. So I wanted to send out a "public" kudos to him for his hard work!

I love you Roberto!! "SMACK!"
