"Winterizing" the yard

We finally did it on time for once before piles of snow fell and covered everything, making it impossible to remedy until the Spring thawed everything out. Then we'd find all the muddy messed up kid toys and the big metal swing with nasty cushions and rusted out poles, and big piles of rotting slimy leaves that sat all slovenly looking on the lawn.

I feel like a responsible homeowner and not like the "white trash neighbors". Wooohoo! Robbie even disassembled our scarecrow and we threw away the rotten pumpkin mess and everything. Not to mention that raking that many leaves was a great workout for me, especially my arms and obliques, if I still have obliques buried somewhere in there.

You gotta love the beginning of winter in Wisconsin. It's starting already and we even had our first (minor) snow yesterday which is part of what scared us into action.
