Humor in Pain Anecdote

As Maggie likes to say, a lot of humor is based off other people's pain.

When returning home from picking out a tree, Barbara and Jimmy jumped out of Barbara's side of the car and Barbara went to close the door. I yelled out, "WATCH YOUR FING...." but it was too late, she slammed her fingers in the sliding van door. It was only her own weight behind it so it didn't crush them but it was enough to hurt and she started crying. Robbie, who happened to have a pair of utility scissors in his hand to cut the twine tying the Christmas tree to our car, turned to help her. So she screamed out, "DON'T CUT THEM! DON'T CUT THEM!" RObbie was totally confused until I pointed out that he was brandishing a big pair of scissors. Apparently Barbara thought he might just cut off the injured fingers or something. I felt bad that Barbara was hurt but it was pretty darn hilarious.

Yeah, because he came running over with the scissors in one hand yelling, "let me see! let me see them!" LOL
